Equality should be everywhere, but to this day, there are struggles: LGBTQ individuals can still be fired or denied housing for who they are, and women still struggle with health care and wage disparities. Jim knows that discrimination only holds everyone back, which is why he supports expanding the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, requiring equal pay for equal work, and ensuring that personal medical decisions stay between a patient and their doctor.
